The Villa Casella is a restaurant implanted since twenty years inside the Strasbourg's landscape.
Proud of its roots, culture and expertise, la Villa create an authentic italian cuisine, inventive and refined. Made only with locals products, hand choosed and/or comming directly from Italy. Blending knowledge of both side of the Alps, Villa re-invent its traditions each season, stay faithfull to its pledges and know how to make the act of cooking and its cuisine the celebration that it proposes to be.
Our work was to re-engaged, to actualised the restaurant identity, to put together its communication tools and to suport its transformations, energy and willings.
Based on its old visuals marks, we have make evolve the identity of the Villa Casella for a more playfull universe, minimalistic and mixing typography, illustration and photography.
Identity : The logotype is based on a photograpy, made by the owners and precious for them. It is multiplying and goes on, like a venetian facade or a summer day in Milan. It is as much the vibrant sign of a particular Italy than one of the possible, imaginary Villa's window. One of its opening on the outside, from where would be espacing fragrance of olives and truffles, fishes and pastas, simmering and preparing for midday and dinner.
Otherwise, if « Villa Casella » have been reduced into « Villa », it as much because the reduction have already been made by the customers, than to highlight the place. Let's eat at Villa ! Easy, bi-syllabic, it can be repeated easelly and be employed unstoppingly. Villa, villa, villa. It is a part of the ambiance of the restaurant and a ressource for poems, vocabulary games and singing choirs.
The menus : They are re-actualised every season. On the rythm of the products and wishes of Villa. Going on six publications per year. Four for the plates and desserts menus, and two for the wines menus. The covers are changing also. They are poems, phonetics games which are giving the tone of the cuisine. Written and composed by hand, they are inspired by theatre, italian landscapes and mighty bellies.
The menus are evenly illustrated. If the dishes and desserts are devouring Villa, salivating of it delicousness, the wines menus follows a different scheme. It is offering to discover their rich and generous wines collections through the italian's landscapes. Bringing to classifying wines by mountains, coasts, volcanos or islands.
Photographs : To beeing able to capt the energy and to show the cuisine of Villa, we made photographs of the plates and of the interior of the restaurant. We're showing the preparing, the freshness and the quality of their products by taking the photographs on a bright background and within daylight. Insides and kitchens photographs are playing with the details of the restaurant, and are highlighting the hand as the first tool of confection. It is it who know how to dose a reciepe, how to treat an ingredient, how to seize a wine or to serve a plate. It is it who is sure, experimented and warmfull, who know how to do.
Website : More than only a showcase for the restaurant, the website is the occasion to share it story and knowledge. Thus, the usuals presentation sections of the menus and the place are augmented by blog posts, which are presenting a reciepe, an inspiering travel made by the chefs, somes ideas or roots of the plates and wishes.
Events : The Villa Casella use also its restaurant to organised a lot of events. Concerts, dancing parties, exhibitions, thema dinners… Bringing us to create posters and flyers, as to work on social medias to promote them. We also produce newsletters and articles telling the specifities and the "everything" of the Villa, as addings to their communications tools.
